A proverb: "Pure gold does not fear the furnace."

All you write is true, and every past has a shadow, but a good life is still the best protection against a bad photo or post.

I may be naive, but most of us that are out on social media actually want to be found! I think the key is to make sure your online presence is demonstrating your best self! Sure, we can't help what others write about us (regardless of our privacy settings) but if we are treating people with respect, chances are pretty good that we're going to foster a lot more friends than enemies.

And if something comes out that we're not thrilled about, the key will be how we handle that. Best to keep it off the internet altogether, but if something embarrassing comes out, handle it maturely and it's likely to help your reputation more than hurt it...
